Grand Ledge Michigan is the only city named Grand Ledge in the world. There is just over 7,200 residents in this small, warm, cordial community. It is placed just west of the city of Lansing and is also convenient to East Lansing, Michigan - The home of Michigan State University.
The city received its name and first post office in 1850. It is placed on the gorgeous Grand River and was named after the river and the sandstone ledges that tower like sentinels along its banks as the river winds straight through the city. The city hosts many fun festivals every year.

One of the big attractions is the Grand Ledge Opera House. It is a gorgeous Victorian building that has prolonged to be restored with its primary charm on the face while the inside provides a contemporary two-level community center with period decor. The building was built in 1884 as a roller skating rink and it soon became an old-time opera house showcasing traveling vaudeville and local entertainment. The Opera House currently is used for gatherings designed for public and enterprise reasons. It provides an unusual location for any special event.
This small town also offers a quaint museum, Ledges Playhouse Theater, and some parks together with Fitzgerald Park where you will find nature trails, fish ladder, picnic areas, and cross country skiing. Take a walk down main road and stop in some of the shops and businesses that offer many services to the residents.
